🌏 Google and DeepMind Researchers unveiled Med-PaLM M, the first demonstration of a generalist multimodal biomedical AI system.
Med-PaLM M encodes and interprets diverse types of medical data spanning text, images, genomics and more - all within the same model architecture. This development highlights the potential of flexible, general-purpose AI systems to unlock new capabilities in biomedicine
🫁 AstraZeneca and Qureight are collabing - to utilize proprietary AI to conduct research across complex lung diseases, and better understand how patients could respond to novel drugs
💻 iCAD a global manufacturer of medical devices, announced they’ll incorporate Google Health's AI technology into its ProFound Breast Health Suite, enabling its cancer detection software to use AI to analyze mammography images and alert radiologists of suspicious areas
In the announcement, iCAD cites an independent research study of six radiologists conducted in 2020 in which "Google's mammography AI system outperformed all of the human readers".
📸 A smartphone camera paired with an AI-driven algorithm - looks like it can capture blood oxygen data faster and more efficiently than specialized equipment
