Melbourne - A Women's Health gathering for you (But I PROMISE we go beyond the bandwagon)
Real talk on FemTech with some fab people
Hey Friends,
Women’s Health has been having its MOMENT in the last 6 months, and May in particular popped off with half a dozen events across the country (yes we counted), Apple adding perimenopause notifications to the health app, and of course - the $215 million dollar pledge by Melinda French Gates.
But between all the noise, some pretty uncomfortable questions still aren’t getting asked or enough attention…
What action will actually help move the needle?
Where’s women’s health in ANZ really at?
What structual, data, and policy barriers really need to be overcome - and how?
How can we help accelerate more of these changes and innovation to reach people who need them?
and so many more…
So we thought this was worthy of actually getting the people who are tackling these questions head-on into a room.

Ft. Our Epic Panellists
Dr. Talat Uppal - Director at Women’s Health Road
A gynaecologist, Clinical Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University, and one of Australia’s most recognised advocates for female health. Dr. Uppal founded Australia’s first Abnormal Uterine Bleeding Hub and serves as a clinical ambassador for AI-driven health solutions. Her work sits at the intersection of clinical innovation, menstrual literacy, and FemTech, and she represents RANZCOG on national interoperability initiatives. Expect her to speak to the clinical realities and the tech translating them into better patient outcomes.
Dr. Amanda Shea - Chief Scientific Officer at Clue
A molecular biologist with roots in ovarian cancer research, Dr. Shea now leads research at Clue, one of the world’s leading FemTech platforms, where she works to close the gender data gap using self-tracked reproductive health data. She bridges rigorous biological science and consumer health technology better than almost anyone in the space. Expect her to speak to what the data is actually telling us, and what it could tell us if we collected it better.
Georgie Drury - Co-Founder and CEO at Metluma
An entrepreneur who scaled a digital health platform to 13 countries before turning her focus to women’s health, Georgie now leads Metluma, a menopause and midlife wellbeing platform. Expect her to speak to what it actually takes to build in FemTech, and why the current system keeps making it harder than it needs to be.
